All the Useful Bits of Information

What happens after I have booked?

When you book you will get a confirmation email and we will also send you a Dimmet welcome pack which will tell you all you need to know about what to bring.

Before you get here

Have a look through the Welcome Pack and the Places to Visit/Eat sections of the website, plan some things and go with the flow for others. In peak times, you may want to book any eating places that you particularly want to visit to get the times you want.

What’s in the welcome pack?

The Welcome Pack is quite comprehensive and tells you about all the facilities available at the house (please visit this page of the website to find out more about the house here before you book) – it also details about all the local amenities as well as the booking terms and conditions again.

Arrival and departure times

The house will be ready and waiting for you to arrive any time after 4pm.

We understand that there is nothing worse than rushing around when you have to leave really early so you don’t have to “check out” until 10am on the day of departure.

What if I need to cancel?

Cancellation by you will be subject to a cancellation fee equal to 25% of the total holiday price except when cancellation occurs within four weeks of the date of your holiday in which case the fee will equal 100% of the total holiday price unless we are able to rebook the property.

If your break falls during a government lockdown that affects Braunton, we will move or refund your break.

Can I bring bikes?

We have a lockable garage at the property, but your belongings are your responsibility whilst you are staying with us.

Do you accept dogs?

I'm afraid that we don't, apart from Assistance Dogs.

What happens on arrival?

Your holiday home is yours for the duration of your holiday – we will provide you with a key and any advice that you need, as well as contact details for us should you need them. There will be a Welcome tea tray set out for you. If you would like any other provisions in advance of your arrival, then do let us know and we will endeavour to assist.

What do I need to do when I leave?

Please strip the beds, dust, hoover and leave the kitchen clean & tidy with all dishes done or the dishwasher running. Alternatively please ask us about our charges for providing a full post stay clean.

What’s with the 70s theme?

Dimmet is made for holidays – everything you need to have a great holiday in really comfortable surroundings. On the one hand a luxurious holiday destination, it also offers the opportunity to add an experience to your holiday. Watch programmes from the 1970s, play old-fashioned games and even use the old cook books to serve some 1970s fare – pineapple and cheese on sticks are a must. The choice is yours – luxury holiday or luxury experience!
