About the Location

Braunton is officially known as a village, not a town, with its population at just over 8000. That said it has a thriving village centre with many shops and places to eat and is within an easy 10 minute walk of Dimmet. It is also located just 5 minutes drive from the international-standard surfing beach at Saunton Sands, with the equally beautiful beaches at Croyde, Putsborough and Woolacombe to be found a little further around the coast.

For walking you have the South West Coast Path as well as the ecologically rich Braunton Burrows, which is the largest sand dune site in England. You can also join the Tarka Cycle Trail at Braunton, and take a leisurely cycle ride to nearly Barnstaple and Instow – stopping for lunch along the way.

Dimmet is set in an elevated position with views over Braunton Burrows and of the Saunton Sands sea in the distance. It’s a quiet corner of Braunton and offers a lovely place to spend your holiday – we’ve spent many hours wiling away our time here and it’s very relaxing. We hope that you will enjoy it too.
