The Rock at Georgeham

So many people recommended the Rock to us that we had to go and try it, and since then we’ve been back quite a few times. Tucked way in the gorgeous village of Georgeham, it really is one of the foodie destinations locally. Boasting a varied menu and extensive indoor and outdoor seating, they can cater for small tables and larger groups – but it’s usually best to book at busy times.

We have a seafood fan and a meat fan with our two boys, and they were both delighted to find a seafood platter and a huge homemade burger. The seafood tasted delicious with a freshness that only get near the sea, and it came with huge hunks of bread. Youngest son runs a burger ranking and this one shot into the top 3 – so it must have been good! On this trip hubby had the ham and leek pie and I had a falafel selection – the pie pastry was excellent and the filling very tasty. My falafel selection was lovely – I’m not a veggie but often opt for the vegetarian option and this was a very tasty and different option.

Service was quite quick and very pleasant. I loved the addition of juniper berries and raspberries to my gin & tonic! Prices were not too steep and portions were generous – so well worth a visit.
